My Approach

What you can expect from therapy with me:

  • It is person-centered, meaning your goals and your expertise on your own experience always come first.
  • It is strengths-based, meaning I will always support you in focusing on the things you do well while framing any issues as challenges to work with (I’ve never met a challenge I didn’t like!).
  • It is authentic and intentional, meaning I show up in the room with you and devote my attention to what you bring to each session.

For those of you who like acronyms (and because I love them too) I utilize principles from the following models/curriculums (I’d be happy to talk more with you about any of these more specifically):

  • Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
  • Mind-Body approaches
  • Non-violent communication and conflict resolution (NVC)

I provide an affirming space for LGBTQIA+ clients. As a white, straight, cisgender womxn (she/her), I consistently work to become more aware of my own privilege and how this may affect the therapeutic process.
